#TRUEOS WIFI DRIVERS FOR INTEL DUAL BAND WIRELESS AC 7265 INSTALL#
To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It's cost more in terms of the value of my chargeable time than the product is worth already.Once you download your new driver, then you need to install it. I will not be replacing the unit if faulty, it will be returned for a refund and a different supplier found. I have already, in parallel, submitted a support request, the response however so far has been disappointing, instructions to carry out steps already stated as having being completed - giving the impression the request description had not been read properly, or that there is no known solution. Let's hope Intel provides step-by-step instructions.

Remove Old Driver Versions in Windows 10 Looks like we are agreed that as the same radio is used for both bluetooth and wifi, there ought to be a single (bluetooth and wifi) driver package, rather than two packages, as neither of the current packages should be installed without the other, due to the shared driver stack.Īre these instructions the correct steps to clear the Windows driver cache? I get the impression that updating the BIOS version to 35 was worth doing, even if not sufficient. You may want to talk to Intel Customer Support - and you have to do so directly, not here - about having the unit replaced. Ok, all that said, this is starting to feel like you have a hardware issue.

Intel Customer Support:make sure you include instructions for how to do this in your process description. I was informed by another user the other day that you also need to clear the Windows driver cache and this should happen before the reboot. Simply uninstalling the two packages, rebooting and then reinstalling the two packages isn't enough.
The Bluetooth driver package has to be uninstalled and reinstalled along with the WLAN driver package because the two technologies are implemented on the same device (and utilize the same transmitters, receivers and antenna), so they share a part of the driver stack for the card. The SC Compute Sticks have a, um, 'quality' Intel BT/WLAN solution and do not suffer from the same set of issues (nor will the strategies for alleviating that problem help here). I will be doing the same if this is not resolved within the next week or so.Īctually, that thread ( ) was talking about the older FC Compute Stick, which had a crappy third-party BT/WLAN solution. I find it hard to believe that a system with no Ethernet port would be sold with a fault that prevents connecting to the Internet to download updates that are needed to fix the problem! This device did not work properly prior to any changes being made, and I imagine many are being returned as a result. If it's necessary to install the bluetooth drivers if fix this wifi problem, are any of the other drivers, such as the System-on-a-chip, Trusted execution engine or Graphic drivers also needed?

I have used the Apps and Features scene in Settings and uninstalled the Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel PROSet/Wireless Software packages, rebooted, then installed those drivers (downloaded from Intel) and the problem continues. As there are several ways to approach those steps, clear instructions from Intel are needed. Intel can you please provide step-by-step instructions to completely uninstall the wireless and bluetooth drivers, all the way to the point where you have nothing left but unsupported hardware, then reboot and install the latest drivers (Bluetooth first). Surely if both the wifi and bluetooth drivers need to be updated together, they should be packaged together by Intel, not as separately downloadable/installable items? I have not updated the bluetooth drivers, however bluetooth is switched off. No improvement, so then I viewed the Driver details from the Device Manager, and tried the "Update driver" method, this downloaded and installed version 19.51.4.2 dated, replacing version 19.51.0.0 dated. Then the problem returned, so I checked the Intel download center and installed the wifi driver:

I then created a restore point, went to Windows Update to check for updates, several GBs later, Windows 10 was up to date, so I created another restore point. So I updated the BIOS from 29 to 35 using the F7 method:Īfter updating the BIOS the problem continued, eventually I tried a power cycle (Power Off, wait a minute, Power On) rather than a Reboot, and was able to connect okay.
Googling "intel compute stick WiFi keeps dropping" I found this: I received the Intel STK1A32SC Compute Stick yesterday only to find it often will not connect to the wifi network, or will not stay connected.
